I was born in Ubima.
Ubima is a quiet town in Rivers State, where life was simple but full of lessons that would shape the man I have become. Like many Nigerian children, I grew up surrounded by both promise and hardship. My parents instilled in me the values of hard work, honesty and service to others. These values guided me through my early years and remained my compass as I stepped into public service.
I spent close to three decades in public service, and learnt one thing above all the others: government is judged by what it finishes. Not by what it announces, not by what it promises in an election year, but by the school a child sits in, the clinic that is open when the fever comes, the road that holds through the rainy season, and the train that leaves on time.
That is the standard I was held to in the Rivers State House of Assembly, in Government House in Port Harcourt, and at the Federal Ministry of Transportation. I did not always get everything right. But the things we set out to build, we built — and they are still there.
I have always believed that Nigeria is a nation of endless promise. From our villages to our cities, from the farms to the factories, from the classrooms to the marketplaces, there is energy, there is talent, and there is hope. But today, too many of our people feel left behind. Too many young men and women, full of potential, cannot find work that gives them dignity. Too many families live in fear of insecurity. Too many communities are cut off by bad roads, unreliable power and weak infrastructure.
Nigeria today needs leaders who will not just hold office but will hold themselves accountable to the people. Leaders who will not merely occupy power but will use it as a tool to build, to empower and to transform.
This site presents my story and my hope for a better Nigeria — centred on real priorities, and on the simple truth that government exists to serve its people, not the other way around.
